After recovering from another bad swing, I've come to the conclusion that a lot of poker is confidence. I'm leaning toward a 33/33/33 ratio of skill luck and confidence. Right now I feel unstoppable and therefore I play unstoppable. Of course lucks gonna bite me in the ass eventually. Anyone else think confidence is a big part of the game?

| Yes, and playing within my bankroll is a HUGE part of my confidence factor. |

Luck is short term statistical fluctuation.
Skill is the ability to take full advantage of your Luck.
Confidence is the ability to fully apply your Skill. |

| Another thing that gives me confidence is faith in the "long run." I call it "Poker's Categorical Imperative." When I contemplate a poker action, I consider not whether this action will profit me this one time, but rather if this action, repeated a near-infinite number of times would profit me in the long run. When I'm sure of this, I can act quite confidently. |

| The old saying that scared money never wins is correct. Your game really evolves when you can go from playing solid poker to a maniac(without going on tilt), and back to solid. |
